What is the tint-changing technology used in POVEC C1?
POVEC C1 is POVEC’s first innovative product, using the world’s first solid-state electrochromic technology. It allows users to instantly switch the lenses’ tint levels without relying on UV light.
What makes POVEC C1 different from other photochromic glasses?
POVEC C1 provides instant, user-controlled tint adjustment, high contrast, and reliable performance in diverse environments. Unlike photochromic lenses that rely on UV light, POVEC C1 lets users actively control tint, adapting to rapidly changing light conditions during outdoor activities.
Is the response time really 1 second?
The lenses change tint by a swipe in under 1 second, offering immediate reaction to changing light.
Are the lenses UV400 protected?
POVEC lenses are engineered with UV400 protection, blocking 99–100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, helping protect your eyes during long hours outdoors.
Are they safe to use in the rain?
POVEC C1 is IP65-rated, meaning it’s dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water splashes. They’re safe to wear in light rain, but not suitable for heavy downpours or any form of water submersion.
Are the lenses shatterproof?
Yes. Our lenses are made with impact-resistant materials and have passed steel-ball drop tests to ensure durability and safety during outdoor sports.
Usage & Operation
How do I turn the glasses on and off?
The glasses power on automatically when you fully open the temple arms, flashing green twice, and power off when you fold the arms, flashing red twice.
How do I use the glasses?
Swipe on the right temple logo area to switch between the three tint levels. Swipe forward for brighter, backward for darker. The levels don’t loop, so just swipe the other way when you reach the end. You can also change the lens tint with our Bluetooth remote.
How do I charge the glasses?
You can charge the sunglasses with the included USB-C to USB-C cable.
How long does the battery last?
When fully charged, the device provides up to 7 days of standby time (with no tint adjustments) and up to 28 days of typical use based on 4 hours of daily wear.

How many tint levels are available?
POVEC C1 provide 3 preset tint levels—Clear, Balance, and Shade, designed to optimize vision across a range of lighting conditions, from low to moderate brightness (CAT.1–CAT.3). These levels ensure visual comfort and adaptability in different outdoor environments.
Fit & Everyday Use
What outdoor activities are POVEC C1 suitable for?
C1 are designed for a wide range of outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, running, kayaking, paddle boarding, and more.
Can I use them with gloves?
Yes, the temple swipe control works with most touchscreen-capable gloves, so you can change tint without removing them. If your gloves aren’t touchscreen-compatible, we recommend using our optional Bluetooth handlebar remote for better experience.
Can I wear them at night?
POVEC C1 is designed for CAT1–CAT3 conditions. In very dark environments, for safety reasons, we do not recommend wearing them. They perform best with at least some ambient light.
Do they come with different nose pad sizes?
Yes. We include three interchangeable nose pad sizes so you can adjust the fit based on your face shape and sport intensity.
Are they comfortable to wear for long periods?
Yes. The frame is built with lightweight, flexible TR90 material, and the adjustable nose pads help distribute pressure evenly. The whole pair weighs about 36g, keeping the fit comfortable and stable.
Connectivity & Compatibility
Can I control the sunglasses safely during high-speed rides?
Yes. You can pair them with our optional Bluetooth handlebar remote, allowing you to switch modes safely without taking your hands off the bar.
How do I pair the remote with POVEC sunglasses?
To pair the remote with your POVEC sunglasses:
- Make sure the remote is close to the sunglasses.
- Turn on the sunglasses and fully open the temple arms.
- Press the remote button 5 times to enter pairing mode.
- While in pairing mode, the sunglasses’ temple lights will flash red.
- When pairing is successful, the lights will flash green once.
How do I power the remote?
The remote runs on a long-lasting button cell, so there’s no charging required. Simply replace the battery when it’s depleted — no cables, no downtime.
How far away can I use the remote?
You can use the remote comfortably within 120ft/36 meters range, enough for normal riding or outdoor movement.
Can one remote pair with multiple sunglasses?
No. Each remote can only be paired with one pair of POVEC sunglasses at a time to ensure a stable connection and precise tint control.
If you want to pair it with another POVEC model:
Turn off (fold) the previously paired sunglasses first, then follow the normal pairing steps to connect the new pair.
Does Bluetooth control affect the tint-changing speed?
No. Bluetooth only sends the command — it doesn’t affect the electrochromic reaction. The lenses still switch tint in one second, exactly the same as swipe change.

Why should I choose electrochromic lenses over photochromic or standard sunglasses?
Electrochromic lenses offer instant, user-controlled tint adjustment and consistent performance regardless of UV light availability. They reduce glare, enhance contrast, and work reliably indoors, behind car windshields, and in low-light situations, advantages that photochromic and conventional sunglasses cannot match.
Do you offer prescription lenses?

Can I change the lenses or choose different lens colors?
POVEC sunglasses currently do not support interchangeable lenses. The existing lenses are engineered for optimal performance across varied light conditions. We are exploring additional lens options and colors for future models, so stay tuned for upcoming releases.
